The Women’s Section of the Royal British Legion has been providing care and support to the ex-Service community for 90 years. In the United Kingdom alone, it is estimated that 11 million people are eligible for support from the Legion, including ex-Service men and women, families and dependants – people of all ages and backgrounds with varying needs. Through its Welfare Programme the Women’s Section of the Royal British Legion work to improve the quality of life for excluded people and their families, to help an increasing number of people live independently and help people develop skills to find sustainable employment.

At our monthly members meetings we normally try to have an event of interest after the official part of the meeting, such as a talk or slide show, quizzes, cream teas etc.
One of our main aims is to try and raise funds (either by raffles, cake sales etc) so that we can put it toward caring for service and ex-service personnel and their families.
