|20 Mar 22 – Dorset County Memorial Service|
The Dorset County RBL will be holding a memorial service to commemorate all those members who have passed away during the pandemic.
The Service will be held at the Memorial Hall in Bovington Camp (Sat Nav – BH20 6JQ).
Members, families and guests are asked to gather at 10.30am. for the Service to commence at 10.50am. The Silence will be respected at 11.00am.
|30 Mar 22 – South East Group Meeting|
|The Branch will be hosting the South East Group Meeting commencing at 1930 Hrs. The Branch Chairman will represent the branch. Any member is welcomed to attend.|
|15th April 22 – Branch/New Members|
|Invite to all existing and new members to attend a branch meeting. Members will receive update reports from Chairman, Secretary and treasurer.|
|03 May 22 – Branch Committee Meeting|
|The Branch Committee will meet at 1930 Hrs. Anyone wishing to join the committee are to get in touch with the branch secretary.|
|13 to 15 May – National conference|
|The Branch will be sending two delegates to this year’s national conference in London. The Branch Standard will also be on parade. Members can also attend as a visitor either virtually or in person. The deadline to apply to attend is 01 Apr 22. Applications to be submitted to the branch secretary.|
|21 May 22 – Stephen Ford Memorial.|
|The Branch Standard will be on parade at the Stephen Ford Memorial in Poole to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his death whilst serving on HMS Antrim in the Falklands Campaign. This will be followed by a lunch at the Ex-Serviceman’s Club on North Rd.|
|06 Jun 22 – D-Day Memorial|
|The Branch Standard and our D-Day veteran will be on parade at the D-Day Memorial in Poole to commemorate the 77th anniversary of D-Day.|
|12 Jun 22 – Falklands 40th Service or Remembrance.|
|The branch is planning to hold a service of remembrance at St James Church/Memorial followed by lunch and entertainment at the RBL Club on Tudor Road.|
|13 Nov 22 – Broadstone Remembrance Parade|
|This year’s remembrance parade falls on the Sun 13th Nov. The parade will commence outside of the RBL Club on Tudor Rd at 1030 Hrs and will march to the War Memorial for the 2 min silence and wreath laying ceremony. The parade will then march to St James Church on Macaulay Rd for a memorial service.|
|RBL 100 Challenge|
Please find details of the RBL 100 Challenge and some suggestions the branch have received from the county committee in the 2 documents listed.
If anyone would like to take part in or suggest an activity, they think the branch should organise then please let me know and I will forward your ideas to the fundraising officer.
We are also looking to plan an afternoon tea with a guest speaker talking about the history of the RBL. If you would be interested in assisting or simply attend, then again pse let me know.
